How to lengthen the shelf-life of your coffee:

Believe it or not putting coffee in the fridge will actually shorten the lifespan of your ground coffee or beans. So how do you extend the shelf-life of your coffee? With food prices and everything on the rise it’s more important than ever to get the most out of the products you buy.

Why not in the fridge?
Placing beans or grounds in the fridge can expose them to moisture and condensation. They can even absorb odors from other foods in the fridge and lose their own flavor. You should keep coffee away from air, light, moisture and heat in order to keep it fresh for longer periods of time.

What should you keep your coffee in?
The best containers to keep coffee in are ones that are airtight and will not let any light though!
They should also be kept cool or at room temperature.

Beans or grounds?
Whole coffee beans have a longer shelf life and keep their flavor longer than ground coffee.

Can you keep coffee in its original packaging?
Yes! Make sure that air is squeezed out and it’s properly sealed.

The best way to keep whole beans the freshest is to use a food/vacuum sealer to extract all the air and completely seal all the freshness in the bag and or glass jar.
Not only will coffee last longer if it’s stored properly but it will taste better too!

Mountain Grove Coffee is a roast to order coffee company so you will always get your coffee at its peak level of freshness and flavor!
